THE MICRO-MANIFESTO

Every Spark nudge begins here. We built this manifesto to ground our texts in timeless truths and proven principles—so every message delivers not just encouragement, but lasting perspective and momentum.

This isn’t just Spark’s foundation—it can be yours too. The Micro-Manifesto gives you 21 timeless anchors you can carry into any season of life. Think of it as a pocket guide to breaking negative loops, finding perspective when days feel heavy, and building the kind of resilience that lasts. Because from tiny truths can come unstoppable strength.

Where Every Spark Begins

This Micro-Manifesto is about anchors—truths that hold when life is heavy, and wisdom that makes progress possible. While some of our programs include nudges specific to individual life challenges, these anchors form the foundation of our micro-nudges.

A challenge is not the end of the story—it can be a training ground for strength. Shifting perspective doesn’t erase struggle, but it reframes it, turning obstacles into opportunities to grow. As the philosopher Epictetus wrote, “People are disturbed not by things, but by the view which they take of them.”

Encouragement, delivered in the right moment, can reset the day and restore courage for the next step. Even a few words can become a turning point, helping someone move forward with clarity. “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.” (Proverbs 25:11)

Resilience isn’t built in a single moment—it’s cultivated through repeated acts of gratitude, self-care, and connection. Small patterns become steady habits, and steady habits become a foundation for long-term strength. “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” (Aristotle)

One spark of perspective can interrupt a downward spiral and open the door to hope. The mind is powerful—but it can be guided. With each nudge, we help redirect thoughts toward strength, courage, and possibility. “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7)

The words we repeat shape the people we become. Spark nudges act as mini-affirmations—reminders that you are capable, resilient, and still moving forward. “The words you speak become the house you live in.”

““Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”

Viktor Frankl (Man’s Search for Meaning)

Tiny Truths to Live By

These are the truths behind every Spark message—anchors to ground you, reminders to reset your perspective, and nudges to help you keep moving through life’s ups and downs.

It doesn’t take much—one spark can change the feel of a whole room. Light reminds us that even when the night feels endless, hope is never fully gone. “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5)

Your journey is yours alone. The moment you start racing someone else’s race, you lose sight of your own progress. Stay on your path—it’s enough. “Run in such a way as to get the prize.” (1 Corinthians 9:24) And as Theodore Roosevelt reminded us, “Comparison is the thief of joy.”

Identity comes before action. The story you tell yourself is the one you live into. “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7)

Motivation is fleeting. Discipline and systems are what keep you moving when feelings fade. Habits quietly shape the person you become. James Clear put it this way: “You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.”

It doesn’t need to roar—sometimes just a flicker is enough to keep you breathing and moving. Hope keeps us alive, even in the darkest valleys. As Andy Dufresne whispered in The Shawshank Redemption: “Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things—and no good thing ever dies.”

Words shape worlds. The way you speak to yourself and to others leaves a mark that either builds up or tears down. “The tongue has the power of life and death.” (Proverbs 18:21)

Setbacks are not the end—they’re chapters. The page can always turn. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord… plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) Or, as J.K. Rowling said of her own journey: “Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.”

Thankfulness reframes the mind toward peace. Even one grateful thought can reorient an entire day. “Give thanks in all circumstances.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18) Oprah once said it simply: “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more.”

Stopping is not weakness—it’s part of resilience. Rest restores what effort drains. As John Steinbeck put it: “It is a common experience that a problem difficult at night is resolved in the morning after the committee of sleep has worked on it.”

Growth is never a straight line. Some days forward, some days back—it all counts. “The righteous falls seven times and rises again.” (Proverbs 24:16) As Rocky Balboa told his son: “It ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.”

Life rarely goes according to plan, but your response is where strength begins. Viktor Frankl, a Holocaust survivor, wrote: “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”

Transformation doesn’t come in leaps, but in thousands of small choices compounded over time. Martin Luther King Jr. maybe said it best: “You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”

Love is rarely easy, but always powerful. It shapes lives long after moments have passed. “Love never fails.” (1 Corinthians 13:8)
